The Man Up Racing Story: An Uncle -Nephew Team

Man Up Racing was born out of a personal mission: to inspire my nephew, Ben, to stay in school and graduate. Like many teenagers, Ben found high school uninspiring, questioning the relevance of certain subjects. As someone who once shared that feeling (and the occasional skipped class!), I understood his struggle.

However, unlike myself, Ben didn’t have a wake-up call until tragedy struck. After losing my father unexpectedly, I realized the importance of pursuing education and career goals. Fueled by this experience, I returned to school, graduating with honors from Scott Community College with an Associate of Applied Science in Automobile Mechanics.

This journey ignited a passion for cars and learning. I became a Master Automobile Technician, bought an old pool bar and transformed into a rock and roll bar called The Tri-Lighter, and then ventured into my own basement waterproofing company.

Inspired by my experience and Ben’s love for cars, racing, and videography, I’ve created “The Golden Ticket.” This incentive allows Ben to co-own a street/strip race car we’ll build together. The catch? He needs to stay in school and graduate. This project will document the car build and serve as a platform to homeschool Ben in auto mechanics and drag racing, drawing on my experience racing in the 80s and 90s.

We aim to share our passion with everyone through our website and YouTube channel. Expect educational content focused on auto mechanics and the science behind it, alongside captivating footage of cars, local music performances, and racing events.

This adventure will ultimately see Ben become my partner at Man Up Racing.com. His future education extends beyond high school, with a second phase offering him half ownership of the car upon graduation from a two-year community college program (of his choice!).

Man Up Racing.com is about more than just entertainment. It’s about education, peace, love, and sharing. It’s about a second chance, a fun learning experience, and a uncle-nephew team building a car and a future together. Join us as we launch and build our website.
